John the Baptist’s ministry mostly took place hanging out by the Jordan River and left us a great model as we raise our children and guide their spiritual formation. John the Baptist was set apart by God from before birth and he lived a life characterized by seclusion and separateness. Matthew 3 tells us that when he…
Have you ever been overcome by God’s faithfulness in your life? Our pastor spoke on John 10 this past Sunday when Jesus makes the analogy of Him being the good shepherd. This passage gives us confidence in our salvation assuring us that it cannot be lost. However, the part that struck me the most was when he…
What do you do when you find yourself in circumstances that are not your fault? Circumstances that have been brought about by another person’s choices and decisions. As Ruth opens, we read the story that sets up the rest of the story. We are told about how Ruth came to be widowed and childless in a…

Adversity. I finally figured out what to call what I have been going through for years. In his great mercy, God finally opened my eyes to see and granted me some comforting perspective. I have been getting little bits and pieces as I have been studying the Bible throughout those years, but not the full…

I just gave the blog a facelift in answer to God’s calling. Well, re-calling. Its been almost 2 years since I have been faithful to blog here. Truthfully, I…
Are you familiar with that tingly anxiety wash followed by a bit of nausea? Maybe for you, anxiety says hello differently, but I’m guessing you can relate to it appearing whenever it announces its unwelcome arrival. For me, it usually shows up in the evening and lately can really affect when I’m able to sleep….
