Happy New Year!
So how is 2016 treating you? My 2016 started out with adding a full nights sleep to my life. Our littlest guy reached 12 weeks and successfully sleep trained the night before our vacation ended. Hubby had a wonderful 3 weeks off at the end of December and we took those 3 weeks off of school also.
Did you make any resolutions for this year? Or choose a theme Bible verse or word heading into the new year? I have come to enjoy choosing a verse and word or phrase for the year and am usually blessed and amazed watching God move.
Last year’s word was INTENTIONAL and Isaiah 43:19 . I had absolutely no idea what God had in store for me when he gave that word and verse to me and was amazed to look back at the journey.
This year I have chosen FOLLOW GOD’S LEAD and I feel a nudge to study prayer.
I began this year’s journey simply by asking God to teach me to pray, like Jesus’ disciples did, after reading a devotional from James MacDonald. It was kind of a light bulb moment for me. Shortly after, BookBub had a book called Confessions of a Prayer Slacker by Diane Moody as a free download (and its still free for Kindle!) and then a few days later Love God Greatly announced their next study as Growing Through Prayer. That was enough conformation for me.
The last 11 months have been quite the dry spell spiritually for me. Survival mode took over and the only thing I did for myself personally was sleep. I dropped a lot of balls, so to speak, as I fought to manage our home and take care of my family. It is so exciting to finally be hearing from God and feel the desire to do the things I normally love to do.
I am looking forward to discovering has what God has planned for this year!
How about you? What are your resolutions, word, verse or plans for this coming year? Leave them in the comments… I’d love to know!

Hi Lucille! So great to have a “Life Well Inspired” inspiration again. Congratulations on your walk through a period of sleeplessness and allowing yourself to be in a season of mothering, sacrifice and now at least some restoration. That takes time and it is delightful to hear you can get a full night’s sleep – at least sometimes now! I too tend to take a word or a phrase for my year. Never have been good about resolutions but something about a word or phrase gives a sense of direction and new meaning to everyday adventures. So, thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome, Margie. I’m praying more frequent writing in in the future! I’m glad you enjoyed my post :).
