Trust Me. Sounds easy, right?? Actually, I am talking about what God delights in. He delights in the moments when we trust him and put our worries and anxieties at his feet. It is something, like any relationship, that develops over time. If you want to look at the bigger picture, God already sees it. He’s the one who set your life in motion. He created you and your life.
I find that really encouraging. No matter what happens or how bad things get, He is never surprised and he already knows the outcome. So trusting Him isn’t so hard, then.
Looking back on my life, I can see many instances where God guided me. And he has blessed me with understanding why some things happened the way they did…or didn’t. Seeing his hand in my life makes trusting Him even easier.
I would like to share some verses that have been comforting to me lately.
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to ham you, plans to give you hope and future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity.”
Jeremiah 29:10-12
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
God brought those two verses to mind after I spent a few days processing and thinking through a quote I had read somewhere. I realized, finally, that living the life God had planned for me was the one I wanted to live. I had been trying to hard to make my plans and dreams happen on my own, while praying for God’s blessing. Little did I know, there was joy, peace and fulfillment waiting for me that only required surrender and trust!
The quote I read was:
When I stop striving to create a life for myself,
I find the life God created for me.
Have you been feeling a restlessness in your life coming from plans and dreams not being realized? Are you weary from trying so hard to create a life for yourself? Surrender and trust God and his plan, friend! After all, he gave you your talents, desires and dreams. What joy and fulfillment you will find using what God has equipped you with for His glory!
