The colors of fall this year have been superb. At first it looked like we were getting off to a horrible start as leaves started dropping in August and then trees were sporadically turning colors. All of the sudden, everything had a spring green glow and I’ll admit I had my doubts. But then it all turned around and the trees broke out in the most gorgeous golden display I have seen in a long time!
I am taking advantage of the last few days of warm weather this week and working outside, so I thought I would share a sunset I caught this week. I was stunned at the beauty of God’s creation and I hope you enjoy the pictures! The light was just amazingly falling over the trees, illuminating the golden colors of fall still left on the trees.
Speaking of the sun in a sunset, when Nature takes your breath away, it is a glimpse into the beauty of heaven- which our minds are unable to comprehend. Keeping our hearts turned toward home, here is a psalm with a promise for your week:
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob!
9 O God, behold our shield,
And look upon the face of Your anointed.
10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
Psalm 84: 8-11
Even the colors of fall and a fall sunset speak of the sun and shield we find in the Lord. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!!
